The Roman Catholic Diocese of Njombe is located in the Ecclesiastical Province of Songea (Tanzania). It was founded on February 16, 1968. The Diocese of Njombe covers an area of  circa 21,000 square kilometers.  The catholic population is circa 258,000 which is about 40% of the total population.
